Will Bamber has sealed the first victory of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season for Team Porsche New Zealand in Shanghai.
An aggressive start off the line saw the front of the field propelling together toward turn 1, hoping to capitalise on any early opportunity to advance their position.
Once there Bamber got his chance and overtook the leader, a spot he then protected through the entire race.
Crossing the finish line in second today was Martin Ragginger of Team #PorscheHolding. During the turn 1 shuffle, the no. 86 driver lost a few positions, but came back with a vengeance to take P2 in the third lap, sticking just behind Bamber through to the end.
What seemed like a sealed 3rd place was overthrown in the penultimate turn of the race when Philip Hamprect of #TeamStarChase overtook Chris van der Drift of #KamlungRacing for 3rd.
Bamber’s victory on Sunday gave our newest dealer team its first-ever #PorscheDealerTrophy, a remarkable start for the no. 12 entry.
